Luke's story
I was always sick but it wasn't until 2006, when I was in the fourth grade, that I was actually diagnosed with Crohns. I have a very severe case of Crohns disease that happened to not respond well with most medications. So much so that I was put on the maximum amount of medication over the shortest time possible to just barely keep me going. And even then, I was still getting progressively sicker. It wasn't until recently that I started to get better. In the May of 2012, I got about 15% of my colon taken out. I got an ostomy and most people think that would ruin my potential for having a normal life ever again, but just the opposite happened; I, for the first time in 6 years, have never been so healthy. I am now 15 years old and on my high school's robotics team and getting straight A's. Since most of my life has been consumed by my illness, I even am getting a Make-A-Wish. After all my experience with battling sickness, I decided I should share my insight to help others who are fighting the same battle.
